We are a group of human rights practitioners working across different rights spaces, each bringing our own expertise, networks, and ideas. We are driven by a shared belief: the infrastructure behind human rights organizing needs renewal, and we are excited to build together with the activists and organizations doing that work.
OUR PEOPLE

Emily Martinez
Emily has spent over two decades supporting rights and justice work around the world. She founded the Human Rights Initiative at the Open Society Foundations and built it into a leading grant-making hub for human rights. She has also served as a director and board member, guiding programs and teams in a variety of fields through strategic and organizational change. Her work spans global, regional and national levels, with over a decade based in Central and Eastern Europe and extensive experience across Latin America, Africa and Asia.

Diana Samarasan
Diana has worked in expanding access of disability rights and justice activists to resources for more than 20 years. She was the founding Executive Director of the Disability Rights Fund and the Disability Rights Advocacy Fund. She led a legal advocacy organization litigating abuses against institutionalized persons with disabilities. A graduate of Harvard University's Kennedy School of Government, Diana has advanced degrees in Public Administration and Feminist Psychology.

Nina Madsen
A seasoned program strategist and grant maker, Nina has a PhD in Sociology with a focus on the field of gender equality and education. She has worked for over two decades to the advance of women’s rights in Brazil, throughout Latin America, and with experience
internationally. She has worked in philanthropy, government institutions and civil society organizations.

James Logan
James works with civil society groups, movements and funders to create strategies, develop new ways of working, answer crucial questions and unlock collaboration. He combines facilitation skills with deep experience of the issues, methodologies and organizational contexts of human rights NGOs. James has worked as a researcher, campaigner, grant maker and organizational leader within the human rights sector.

Audrey Powers
Audrey is an operations and executive support professional with experience managing complex projects, coordinating teams, and supporting mission-driven organizations. Known for her organization, adaptability, attention to detail, and calm approach under pressure, she excels at building efficient systems, streamlining workflows, and enabling teams and leaders to navigate complex work successfully.
